Description
Highlighting the beauty and essence of African hair, culture and traditions, after a profoundly
offensive and racist advertisement.
An advertisement associating black women’s hair as “dry and damaged” in contrast to depicting
white women’s hair as “normal”. This resulted in protests by one of the South African political parties
which included a shutdown of stores.
The question remains, will corrective actions such as commitment to working with government to
promote local product in stores, diversity and inclusion training for managers and staff teach people
to LOVE?
